Graduated in Chemistry from the State University of Maringa (2005-2008), Master's degree from the State University of Campinas (2009-2011) and Ph.D. from the State University of Campinas (2011-2014). Worked as NMR manager at the University of São Paulo (07/2012 - 11/2015) acting in the areas of biochemistry and biophysics (structure and dynamics of proteins in solution). Adjunct professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) from 2015 to 2017. Recently, finished post-doc at McGill University (Montreal, Canada) where Prof. Favaro worked investigating enzymatic mechanisms using Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC). Favaro's post-doc was performed under the supervision of Prof. Anthony Mittermaier. Since 2017 has been working as a Professor at the State University of Campinas, where Prof. Favaro coordinates the Laboratory of Enzyme Evolution (LEEv). The focus of her research is biocatalysts evolution using biophysical and biochemical techniques such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Circular Dichroism (CD), UV-Visible (UV-Vis), Molecular Dynamics, Docking Simulations and Protein semi-rational evolution. Has experience in organic synthesis and theoretical calculations involving conformational analysis and analysis of the mechanism involved in coupling constants transmission.
